Next week's sales are looking better.

I had in mind homemade pasta, made with sale eggs and sale flour (especially if I could find whole wheat) with mock alfredo sauce made of whipping cream from Albertson's, butter, also from Albertson's and that shredded cheese I picked up at El Rancho. (just melt the butter, add a little flour to make a roux, slowly add cream, stirring constantly. Simmer for 20 minutes, add shredded cheese. Stir until melted. Season to taste) Was going to complete the meal with Fresh Express salads from Safeway. They're only $1. I'd top the salad with tomatoes from Pro Ranch.Mindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06265716495876669445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548333260257754137.post-82731597164682218112009-10-23T09:15:23.410-07:002009-10-23T09:15:23.410-07:00OK, I'll go first.
Crockpot Beef Burgundy
ove...OK, I'll go first.

Crockpot Beef Burgundy
over homemade mashed potatoes
roasted asparagus
using:

2 lb. chuck roast cut into chunks, Safeway, aprox. $3
1 box whole button mushrooms, Safeway, $1
1 can, or is it 2 cans(?), beef broth, allow for .75. I think it's one can. Recipe orignally calls for wine, but I use broth instead.
Whole baby onions, allow for aprox. $2 for a bag, I only use part of a bag, use a chopped onion if you want to save $.
Mashed potatoes, using from a 10# bag of russets, .97 at Safeway
Asparagus, .99 lb. at Sprouts

So aproximately $8.75-$9.00 for probably enough food to feed 4-6 adults. So dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day for some of the family or dinner for two nights possibly.budget menu ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00769983416222784258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548333260257754137.post-25812569911656443212009-10-22T21:10:29.223-07:002009-10-22T21:10:29.223-07:00Okay, I'm on it.Okay, I'm on it.Mindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06265716495876669445noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548333260257754137.post-43651419825827507832009-10-22T16:20:35.788-07:002009-10-22T16:20:35.788-07:00Whatever you want to do. I just thought it would be fun to see different ideas.budget menu ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00769983416222784258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548333260257754137.post-19693183055798929002009-10-22T13:35:26.339-07:002009-10-22T13:35:26.339-07:00Is there a price limit per serving on the dinner? ...Is there a price limit per serving on the dinner?
